Great Lakes Incubator Farm Tour

Join Adam for a walk around the Great Lakes Incubator Farm (GLIF).
Located across the river from the Boardman River Nature Center on Grand Traverse County’s historic Meyer Farm property, GLIF is an active land-based agricultural program that fosters the growth and development of new and beginning farmers in Northwest Lower Michigan.
The program lowers common barriers that typically deter individuals from starting a farming operation by giving them the opportunity and flexibility to create an agricultural business and gain expertise as they grow. By cultivating new producers in this region, the GLIF program aims to: aid in the succession of local farmland, create a local farming model based on principles of regenerative agriculture, build resilience in our local food economies, and create a lasting culture of health and wellness.
Mirroring the Boardman River Nature Center on the other side of the river, GLIF will serve as a demonstration farm where community members can gather and connect to learn about natural resources, conservation, agriculture, food, farming systems, and best and regenerative practices.
